True Romance

Maybe my favourite film. Gary Oldman among many chilling characters in this Tarrantino classic.

David LaChapelle

Marie introduced me to this photographer. I hadn't heard from him before but he is globally renowned. If you want to know more you can follow this link... http://www.lachapellestudio.com

David LaChapelle is a photographer, director of documentaries and a video artist; "his colourful, smooth and extroverted style is filled with sensuality, fantasy, and dark adventure, packed with accessible popular images, and communicates with a wide and variegated audience."(lachapellestudio.com)

"I feel that we are living in a very precarious time, with environmental devastation, economic instability, religious wars wages, and excessive consumption admist extreme poverty. I have always used photography as a means to try to understand the world and the paradox that is my life. There is the feeling that we are living at a precipice. My hope is that through the narratives told in my images, I will engage people and connect with them addressing the same ideas or questions that possibly challenge them. My latest pictures are a reflection of my earliest pictures. I reintroduce my personal ideas of transfiguration, regaining paradise, and the notion of life after death."

Brittany Murphy, so beautiful.

Book of Nudes

Erin has decided to create a 'book of nudes' for her photography project. I love a bit of nudity, it's so liberating in such a conservative society.

I reckon Terry Richardson could give Erin some inspiration.

Guy Bourdin

Recently I have been spending time looking into the relationship between sex and fashion; I learned that Guy Bourdin was the first photographer to embrace this link - his work combines sexuality with controversy. Whilst maintaining a fairly natural image his obvious interest in surrealism is plain to see. Guy Bourdin had a innovative yet realistic approach to fashion photography, with strong sexual influences. The use of props and screen play allow the viewer to gain an individual perspective of the story behind them.

"With their startling fairytale imagery, the fashion photographer Guy Bourdin's pictures have lost none of their uncomfortable allure." (fashion.telegraph.co.uk)

Gummo

Harmony Korine is an exceptional creative and I love Chloe Sevigny. Korine is perhaps more renowned for his work on Kids. This one, release back in 1997, an odd and dull story line and a pretty rough setting but the cinematography is so great, I like the raw and kinda dystopian theme.

Disney Polygon

A special night with my Polycrew two of my friends, Charlie and Sav just turned 22 and for their joint birthday party, we all dressed up as Disney characters. I was blown away by the amount of effort everyone put in... here is some evidence (photos courtesy of my friend Benji Sowter):

Ben AKA Lumière

Aaron, Scott, Olly and Joni AKA Peter, Hook, the Evil Crocodile and Tinkerbell

Dave, Barrie and Yas AKA The Magic Carpet, Aladin and Princess Jasmin

Back2London

I met my bestest at Waterloo where we both found it hard to control our happiness - we collided with such force that my poor little Blackberry went for a trip across the platform floor - "no harm done, phone still works and I now have my best friend on my arm".

Always make time for a visit to Brick Lane when in London. Spitalfields market also - particularly on a Thursday.

Hospitality by our Fate and Eric at 95 in East Dulwich.

The house is enough to inspire me. The best house in East London, as far as I know..

Barbican Centre. Future Beauty: 30 years of Japanese Fashion, from the early 1980s to the present. Including work from designers such as Issey Miyake, Rei Kawakubo and Yohji Yamamoto, the exhibition explains how Japanese design redefined the very basis of fashion. Their works were shown alongside the new generation of radical designers including Fumito Ganryu, Tao Kurihara and Matohu.

Compulsory visit to Camden and then Hammersmith Apollo for Frankie Boyle.

Hilarious as expected, we left the Apollo with aching cheeks and bursting bladders. He was supported by Craig Campbell, who I'd never heard of before but would now highly recommend.

After an amazing 46 hours, it was back to Southampton/back to the grind.

Funny Face

I watched Funny Face today for the firs time in years! Audrey is a little beaut.

"...red is dead and blue is through, green's obscene and browns taboo, and there's positively no excuse for plum abuse.. or chartreuse"

Lennox the Cat

Marie's little kitten - Lennox.

It's amazing how much we are drawn to young or just small animals.. Puppies, kittens, chicks, bunnies. On meeting this little thing my heart skipped a beat and I immediately wanted to cuddle it forever.

Meow

Not such a boring shithole...

Adventuring around the Hampshire countryside with my two cousins, Sam and Amy...

Living in a city, it can be easy to forget about the mass of countryside around. I find it so refreshing escaping from a busy town centre and finding places like this where nothing can be heard but the nature living around you.
