Christmas Markets

Our girls have been busy getting crafty and setting up shop at various markets across Bristol and in our home town, Milford Haven.

Kate, Erin & Maya take on Picton Street market...

Kate's little dinosaur planters are too cute...

Natalie has been quilling her fingers off, and it all looks beautiful...

There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.

Ernest Hemingway

Add value to survival

Friendship is unnecessary,
like philosophy, like art...
It has no survival value;
rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.

the all important CATEGORIES

Tasha & Beckie's theory on finding 'the one' - because we know it all, ya know?

"What's my name?"

I can't believe I'm broadcasting this but I will anyway... My friend and I have this theory we refer to as the Categories - it says each person has a selection of items that a person must satisfy in order to be ones perfect match - the primary categories: for example they must be funny, must get on with your friends and family, must be outgoing, must be kind, ambitious etc. These primary categories/ things are very important, if this person is to be your soul mate they must tick these primary boxes - you should find out if they do or not in the early days so if for example they are funny, kind, ambitious yet they are anti-social and therefore don't get along with your family and friends (just an example) then you already have a crack in the formation, it may not matter so much now but ultimately later on this can lead to problems. Another example could be that they are kind, ambitious, they get along well with your family and friends but they don't make you laugh - perhaps you may find someone in the future that slides in to that category and leads you astray? Who knows. There are also the secondary categories - categories which would make things even better but aren't crucial for a perfect match, for example they should be taller than you, they shouldn't smoke, preferably brown hair etc. - things you can deal with/live without. You mustn't mistake primary for secondary categories, for example you shouldn't not go for someone just because they have a blonde hair if they fit all of your primary categories. My friend and I were completely out of it when we came up with this theory about 4 years ago but I find myself referring to it quite often. It seems great theories can be born from conversations when wrecked.

OHC Projects: Puppet Show

OHC Projects - Puppet Show:

We recently took part in the 'Bake it Better' campaign organised by the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, https://www.facebook.com/GreatOrmondSt?GOSHCC+facebook+page

Children of all ages were invited to take part in a shadow puppet making workshop where we turned recycled card into characters and they had a chance to hold their very own puppet show. We had lots of fun and can't wait to do it again.

“The best thing for being sad," replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then — to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn.”

Fundraiser for Natalie

Ello

We've gone on a bit of a mad one to raise money for our sister and friend, Natalie Pusalkar. To fund the wheelchair she needs and the specialist care required for her pain management. We are amidst our 5 day Pembrokeshire Coastal walk challenge, we have hosted a Bake Sale Coffee Morning, and we have a Kids Fun Day coming up on the 16th Feb! So much fun and great seeing the community come together, responding so well to the cause.

It's been such a pleasure, not only to help my sister but also too absorb some Pembrokeshire countryside. I suddenly realise how much I neglected it while I was growing up - isn't it always the same? I didn't realise how lucky I was until I moved away, now I love going home. Now home isn't just appealing just for my mum's cooking, although that will always play a major part in my decision to venture down the M4 to the most southern western point in Wales, home.

Darwin in colour

"In continuation to our popular series of Realistically Colorized Historical Photos we bring you part 2 of the series highlighting even more incredible memorable black and white photographs realistically colorized. Through the digital process of colorization, we can travel through time and see these popular figures and scenes as if they were in today’s modern day and color.
